Eibon Artist Spotlight: Alex Sarabia

Hey what's up, people? Shawn Lewis here.

I've turned our NEWS Blog back on to keep you up to date with the latest developments and other fun stuff going down throughout the summer. Keep it here for all your Eibon Press news!

Anyway... I'm happy to report that our New York Ripper 2 graphic novels are blowing out fast. The Psycho Editions sold out in under an hour and the rest are steadily moving. A huge thanks to everyone that came out and supported this one, if you still need your copy, CLICK HERE TO PURCHASE NY RIPPER 2 its some of our best work! And speaking of our best work, I wanted to take some time to spotlight the artist on New York Ripper 2, Alex Sarabia!

This is our first time working with Alex and he far exceeded our expectations with every blood soaked page. Alex managed to take everything we envisioned to another level. He really breathed life into our New York Ripper sequel, folks, and it's even more intense than the original film, if you can believe that. Check out some samples of Alex's work from the book below. As you can see from the photo above, our boy is totally old school, in that he uses a PENCIL and PAPER to draw each line of each panel. A lot of artists draw exclusively in the computer these days, and hey there's nothing wrong with that... but it's always extra awesome when an amazing talent like Alex, who is also very young, goes full-on ANALOG. After penciling, Alex scans each page at high resolution and sends them to Stephen, who then asks for corrections and/or moves it along to Derek Rook and Chis Siswoyo for inking. Steve and Alex had a great collaboration and they're cooking up some new stuff too. But that's the future.

For now, I'm so excited for everyone to start getting their copies of NYR2 in the mail!

And if you haven't ordered yours yet...
